What's New on Wine Trail Traveler – June 21, 2008

Columns: The Manitou Springs Wine Festival was held this month in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Read about the festival.

New Winery Reviews:
Yes, Colorado does grow vinefera grapes and make wine. In fact the growing season is long enough and has enough degree days to produce high alcohol wines between 13.5 percent and 15.5 percent. The degree days of the Grand Valley AVA are similiar to those of Napa. The sites are picturesque and one should tote a camera when visiting winery tasting rooms. Some of these tasting rooms are just below a mile high while others are over 6000 feet high. Check out these winery stories and the two related articles.
